QuestBridge is a non-profit program that links bright and motivated low-income students with educational and scholarship opportunities at some of the nation's most selective colleges and universities. QuestBride is the provider of the National College Match Program and the College Prep Scholarship.
Caltech partnered with QuestBridge to connect and provide access to high-achieving low-income students who are looking for an exceptional science, math, and engineering undergraduate experience. How to apply
International students cannot apply fo the College Match Program but can apply to Caltech for the Early Action or Regular Decision deadline.
If you have ranked Caltech to match, please submit the following required documents as soon as you are notified of your QuestBridge Finalist status on October 22.
1. Standardized Testing Requirements
- SAT Reasoning Test OR ACT Plus Writing
- SAT Subject Test: Math Level 2
- SAT Subject Test in ONE of the sciences (Ecological or Molecular Biology, Chemistry or Physics)
2. Official Test Score Reports
Request official score reports from the College Board and/orACT as soon as you are notified of your QuestBridge Finalist status. Caltech strongly recommends that students submit ALL SAT and SAT Subject test scores.
Please note that applicants for the College Match must take all required tests before November 1 to be eligible for consideration. Caltech will not accept November testing for the College Match.
3. Official Transcripts
Students must submit official transcripts from their high school and any other institution where they have taken courses. Students should be enrolled in or have completed the following academic coursework:
- 4 years of math (including calculus)
- 1 year of physics
- 1 year of chemistry
- 3 years of English (4 years recommended)
- 1 year of U.S. history/government
If you have submitted the Common App and all required materials to Caltech as a Finalist and are NOT matched, you will automatically be considered for Regular Decision, unless you contact Caltech to withdraw your application OR match with a binding school.
If you did NOT put Caltech to Match as a Finalist and did NOT Match through the QuestBridge Match Program, you can apply to Caltech for Regular Decision through the Common application. Please do not forward your QuestBridge Application--it will not be reviewed or used in place of the Common Application.
All QuestBridge Finalists are offered an automatic fee wavier. Please select the "Other" fee waiver option on the Common App and note where appropriate on the application.
All QuestBridge applicants must submit all financial aid documents. Caltech requires the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the CSS/Financial Aid Profile. Information about these forms can be found on the Caltech Financial Aid website.
Students applying for the National College Match program must register for the CSS/Financial Aid Profile.
Students who are matched with Caltech will receive an opportunity for paid travel to visit the campus in the spring.
