Ray Prado, Director

Ray came to Caltech after spending six years at the UCLA School of Medicine as their director of outreach and recruitment. After graduating from Pomona College, he spent two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Central America, then went on to UCLA to earn a master's degree in Latin American Studies. Ray is responsible for the International application cycle and inquiries from active duty military servicemen and women.

Jamila graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor's degree in communication and a master's degree in communication management. Previously she worked at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism as the assistant director of admissions. Currently she is pursuing her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Jamila is responsible for publications and marketing.

Karly graduated from DePauw University with a bachelor's degree in History and a minor in Spanish and worked in admissions at DePauw for a year. She then joined Trinity University's Office of Admissions as the lead for diversity recruitment and community outreach for five years. During that time she earned a Master of Education in Education Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas in San Antonio. Karly is responsible for diversity recruitment at Caltech.

Cameron graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a degree in mathematics. As a student he was involved in the admissions office as an interviewer of prospective students. Recently, Cameron earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Redlands. Here in the Caltech admissions office, Cameron is responsible for the 3/2 and transfer application cycles, organizing daily visit programs and online presentations, and coordinating the student tour guides.

Jann joins Caltech after several years at the University of Virginia's Teaching Resource Center. She holds a Ph.D in Slavic Folklore from U.Va., and MA in Russian Literature from New York University, and a BA in general studies from Ferrum College. She has taught Russian language, literature and folklore, studies children's folklore, and has crocheted pi to about 30 decimal points. Jann assists with publications and runs the student blogs.

Owen graduated from Trinity University with a bachelor's degree in English and a minor in Medieval Studies. He spent two years working in Trinity's admissions office as a counselor intern. Owen also worked a an admissions counselor at Pitzer college before joining the Caltech Admissions Office. Owen is responsible for campus visit programs including Caltech Preview, Prefrosh Weekend, and Caltech in a Day.
