The history of Caltech is one of intriguing people, significant places, and some very unique things … all of which can be explored in the Institute's new Interactive History Map, created to celebrate its 125th year. The map—which can be found at www.caltech.edu/historymap— is a bit of a self-guided tour, meant to give visitors to campus the ability to learn about this exceptional place as well as give those who call it home a closer look at what has come before.
Intrigued? Try to find the building that got its name in part because of a racehorse called Proclivity; look for the landscaping features designed by the artist who designed sets for Gone with the Wind; see if you can spot the building where antimatter was first discovered. And if you think we're missing a significant event from Caltech's past, drop us a note to let us know, and we'll look into it.
