Caltech offers one admission process for Transfer applicants.

Transfer Process

The Transfer admissions process is for students who have completed their secondary education and are enrolled at a college or university other than Caltech where they have earned course credit. Transfer admission is non-binding and non-restrictive. If you apply to Caltech as a transfer applicant, you can apply to as many colleges or universities you wish as long as you are not violating their policies. You are not required to attend Caltech if you are accepted.

Applications are due February 11 and students will be notified of their admission decision (admit or deny) by early May. Admitted students will then have until June 1 to decide if they will accept Caltech's offer of admission. We do not admit students for the winter or spring terms.

Possible Admissions Decisions

There are 2 admissions decision outcomes when students are notified by early May:

• Admit: a student is admitted and has until June 1 to accept or decline their offer.
• Deny: a student is denied admission to Caltech. All deny decisions are final and a student cannot appeal the decision. Students are welcome to apply for admission again the following fall.
